On Tuesday (Sept. 18), Davis was on his couch watching TV. He said he may have dozed off when he heard the doggie door on the front door flapping violently.

The site visits are done and initial findings show real estate values are down between 25 and 35 percent.

That’s bad, but not nearly as much as some predicted.

Matthew Hickey of Blue Ridge Mass Appraisals told the Board of Supervisors Wed. (Sept. 19) he is ready to mail out detailed information to home and land owners no later than October 5.

Things got testy at the Board of supervisors meeting Wednesday (Sept. 19).

School Superintendent Gena Keller told the board the schools need an infusion of almost $600,000.

Thistle Gate owners George and Leslie Cushnie have opened a tasting room, though the official grand opening is scheduled for early October.
