Suspect sought in bank robbery

The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect after the Union Bank & Trust at 5980 Thomas Jefferson Parkway was robbed at approximately 4:01 p.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 10).

Capt. David Wells of the sheriff’s office would not say how much money was stolen in the robbery due to the fact that the investigation is ongoing. He confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.

According to a press release issued by Capt. Von Hill, residents are asked to be on the lookout for a white male in his mid- to late-20s. He is about 6 feet tall and was last seen wearing a red cap, red jacket, and blue jeans. He also has tattoos visible on his neck.

After robbing the bank, he escaped in an older model two- or four-door silver sedan, according to the release.

The community does not appear to be in danger, according to the release.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Wells at 434-589-8211.
