“The Choraleers are a unique group of twenty dedicated singers with a variety of musical talents, and all are very much into our overall mission of bringing music to our older citizens. In our midst we have excellent vocal and instrumental soloists,” said Kurt Dunklee, choral director and former director of the Fluvanna Community Singers. The joint was jumping at Carysbrook Performing Arts Center this weekend (May 5 and 6) with the annual spring concert performed by the Fluvanna Community Singers. The chorus, led by musical director Horace Scrugg was swinging and singing old time jazz and blues standards such as Thomas “Fats” Waller’s The Joint is Jumpin’ and Duke Ellington’s lively Hit Me With A Hot Note and Watch Me Bounce.
