Charles Rittenhouse, the Cunningham District representative to the Fluvanna County School Board, requested at the April 8 School Board meeting that a staff liaison position be created, and that the liaison be permitted to sit at the table with the Board members and the student liaison.

“I thought it was the perfect time to present for a staff liaison to sit up with the Board – just like we have a student liaison, a non-voting liaison, to express their concerns,” Rittenhouse said. “The staff liaison would offer their updates and opinions,” he explained. “The staff liaison should be elected by the staff. We have a student liaison because the statements and opinions of students are important to the Fluvanna County School Board. If we want to remain transparent and fair,” Rittenhouse concluded, “we will give (the staff) the voice for which they have continually asked.”
