The Lake Monticello Sharks swim team opened its 2016 season on Wednesday, June 15, by hosting an unscored meet with the Louisa Gators swim team. The opening meet of the season is always unscored to allow new and young swimmers to get a taste of competition without the pressure to score points for their team.  The Sharks are coached again this year by Carly Csapo. She is assisted again by Maria Arroyo, Sito Arroyo and Alexis Goodwin. Csapo said that the Sharks have almost 160 swimmers this season, their largest contingent of competitors ever. They are moving up this year to swim in Division II of the Jefferson Swim League.
