Yes, this board was stuck to deal with the decisions of a past board. My main complaint is the way the May 2 deal transpired. School Superintendent (Gena) Keller who had no part in the cost of the new high school was working in good faith with the Board of Supervisors. What kind of professional behavior is it to send an e-mail to communicate huge cuts in funding that will be voted on in less than three hours? Massive unworkable, recommendations were generated without any input from the school board. In her defense of the real need for reconsideration, Ms. Keller voiced her grave concern, saying that she had always believed in the process (compromise of working issues through in good faith) but this treatment has caused her to tremble.

I do not know the people of “Fluvanna United” (FU) but I do know that they made at least one very misleading statement in their three page ad last week. To quote: The new BOS is “considering (2) pipeline proposals at $0 cost to the taxpayer to bring water to Zion Crossroad for business.”

Kudos to Horace Scruggs and his high school chorale. Over many years as a mom and grandmom I have attended many school performance programs as “my kid” was a part of it. This recent Mother’s Day I was privileged to attend the Fluvanna County High School choral presentation at Central Elementary School Auditorium...but this was so totally enjoyable. Add a comment

In the past few years county residents have been analyzing data to their own advantage which in my opinion is not correct. You need to let the data speak for itself and be able to explain the data. This means when you obtain data it must be from a peer reviewed source. Add a comment
