The Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors gave the go ahead to Fluvanna’s first brewery on Wednesday night (May 18).

Antioch Brewing Company, owned by Raymond and Chrystan Bunch, has gotten rave reviews for its beer, said brewery representative Alan Crummette, but so far has been giving it away for free.

“We aren’t legal yet,” said Crummette. “And that’s why we want to hurry up and get this rolling so that we can start recovering our losses and growing our business.”

Located by the Bunch’s home on Branch Road in the Cunningham area, Antioch Brewing Company already has a line–up of different flavors to get started on. Right now the company grows its own hops to supplement those it buys and is looking to purchase other needed grains as locally as possible.
