Flucos helping Flucos with cash mob

The cash mob concept is a grass roots movement similar to those started in Albemarle and Charlottesville where customers are encouraged to buy at local businesses and help the local economy. John Carrier was the organizer for the Do It Best and was also pleased with the turnout.

“It has been steady all day and we are grateful for the community support,” said Megahan. Partner Craig agreed.  A couple of customers
admitted to the owners they did not know Do It Best existed nor had some ever ventured inside to see all that they had to offer.

County supervisors Mozelle Booker and Bob Ullenbruch and Commonwealth’s Attorney, Jeff Haislip stopped by to make a purchase.

“There have been sales all over the store,” said Megahan.

“Flucos helping Flucos,” said Carrier of the cash mob.

“Local businesses can meet the needs and contribute to the tax base here in the county,” added Megahan.
The store reminds one of the old general store in Palmyra and the story is told that the owner used to tell customers, “If we don’t have
it, you don’t need it.”

Do It Best is always open for business during the week from 7 a.m.- 6 p.m. and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday and noon-4 p.m. on Sunday. Visit their website at http://fluvannahardware.doitbest.com or for more information, call 591-0670.
