“I believe that my leadership and fiscal supervisory background are critical to ensuring the future success of the Fluvanna County School system,” Hughes said in a press release “My election will bring continuity and valuable experience to the position.”
A former Marine, Hughes is a decorated Vietnam Veteran whose previous work experiences include Executive Director of the Long Beach Economic Opportunity Council, President of the Dunhill Personnel Agency, and Employment Program Liaison and Job Developer for the Nassau County Department of Social Services in Mineola, NY.
Hughes will greet the public at an Open House on Sunday, Sept. 23, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Lake Monticello Fire and Rescue Building.
