Assistant principal Yvonne Howdyshell reviewed with students their Star Expectations for behavior. Student helpers, under the direction of Tamika Carter, guidance counselor at Carysbrook, helped to reinforce how to apply the “star expectations” for their peers.
Students keep their star cards by exhibiting the Star Behaviors: Show citizenship, Take responsibility, Act kindly, Respect others and Stay safe. Students keeping their cards will be awarded with treats and privileges.
During the assembly, four students and two teachers were called up for special recognition. Carysbrook’s students and staff of the month, sponsored by Papa John’s, were fourth graders Dalton McClurken and Delaney Hammond. Third graders recognized were Trustin Hopfensperger and Amya Perry. Bobby Loving, librarian, and Cathy Noraas, third grade teacher were each recognized as teachers of the month.
