The Fluvanna School Board meets at 6:30 on the second Wednesday of the month in the School Board office. If you cannot attend watch it on Charlottesville public access channel 14 and Lake Monticello’s channel 977, the following week. Produced by the FCHS TV production group. Fluvanna High School
• Oct. 17: There will be a community preview of “The Audition” by the FCHS Drama class in FCHS Auditorium at 7 p.m. The show will then go on to statewide VHSL competitions.
• Nov. 1: Homecoming parade, 6 p.m. beginning at Pleasant Grove. Community groups and school clubs are among those participating in the float competition. Organized by the Student Government Association (SGA) the parade expects to be better than ever. All are invited to watch them proceed along Rt. 53 to the high school. It will be followed by the Fluco football game and the crowning of the Homecoming court queen and king at halftime.
• Ongoing: The following varsity sports are well underway: cross country, football, golf, and lacrosse. Check flucoathletics.org for schedules, then come cheer them on. Replay of Fluco football games are shown on LM channel 977.

Fluvanna Middle School
• Ongoing: The First Lego League (FLL) is currently recruiting within county schools. FLL is a robotics program for students 9 – 14 years old designed to excite them about science and technology
• Oct. 18: Friday Fun Day
• Now – Nov. 9: Attractions coupon books deadline has been extended and are still available.

Carysbrook Elementary School
• Oct. 23: Papa John’s pizza night: 5:30 to 9 p.m. A percentage of the proceeds from sales benefit the school. Tell them you are participating in the Carysbrook promotion.
• Oct. 25: Fun Friday Movie day: 3 to 6 p.m. Hotel Transylvania
• Oct. 31: Pumpkin decorating contest. Judging by the PTO, prizes awarded in numerous categories.
• Nov. 19: Grandparents Day. Want to be a Grandparent for the day? Even if you don’t have a child at Carysbrook, lots of kids would love you to be their grandparent for lunch. A completed volunteer form, found at fluco.org, is required.
Central Elementary School
• Ongoing: Every year Central earns hundreds of dollars and free products through silent fundraisers. You can be part of it. Sign up or clip box tops and turn them in at the main office. Participants include; Campbell labels, Food Lion points, MyCokeRewards, Tyson labels, Target REDcard points , Giant awards and Papa Johns. Details at, centralelementarypto.digitalpto.com .
• Nov. 4: Central Mobile Dentist Visit, 8 am. To 3 p.m.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer assignments are presently being filled at the schools. They are working together to match up volunteers with teachers needs
