Evlynn Ann Murphy

Evlynn and her husband moved to Lake Monticello in 1989 and were engaged in the creation of the tennis program which still exists today. She was also active with the Lake Monticello Fire and Rescue Auxiliary. In addition, Evlynn was active with the Ladies Ninettes and a volunteer at Martha Jefferson Hospital for many years. Her family would like to thank Dr. Gordon Morris for his wonderful care of her during her many years as a cancer survivor. They are also thankful to her friends and the staff at the Independence in Charlottesville who made her so happy and kept her busy over the last two years.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, Jan. 1 between 2-4 p.m. at Sheridan Funeral Home in Kents Store. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Jan. 2, at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Palmyra. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to the Hospice of the Piedmont or the Lake Monticello Fire and Rescue.
