Lake votes

The votes for, against, and abstentions from the R&R proposal total 1,873.  But the number of valid votes cast total 1,788.

There is a discrepancy, therefore, of 85 votes.

The election committee tallied 1,123 votes for the R&R proposal, 738 votes against the proposal, and 12 abstentions.  Because the margin of victory for the “yes” vote is more than 85 votes, it is unlikely that the overall results would change.

However, at least one of the two new directors potentially elected for three-year terms beginning today – Stephanie Davis and James Gerling – may not have won the race after all.

According to the election committee, Stephanie Davis received 1,027 votes, James Gerling received 825 votes, Charles Harrelson received 778 votes, and Jan Shattls received 720 votes.  The margin between James Gerling and Charles Harrelson is close enough that the election committee’s declaration could be wrong.

Catherine Neelley, LMOA general manager, told the Review that she is trying to reach the chairperson of the election committee and will be in touch with an update as soon as it is available.

The R&R project will make improvements to LMOA facilities, most notably renovating the Ashlawn Clubhouse, demolishing the Eagle’s Nest pro shop building, and constructing a new Bunker Recreation Center. – Christina Dimeo Guseman
