Mary Jane Holland Sheridan

Mary Jane Holland Sheridan, 90, of Kents Store, Va. died Friday Oct. 9, 2015 at her home surrounded by family and friends. Mrs. Sheridan was born Sept 25, 1925, daughter of the late Hughes and Annie Holland. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Andrew M. Sheridan, Sr., three brothers, George, Jimmy and Phil Holland, one daughter-in-law, Virginia Cameron “Puddin” Sheridan, and one great grandson, Bennett Dale Ross. She is survived by five children, Frankie and Kris, Mel and his wife Donna, Mary Annie and her husband Carol, Sandy and her husband Rusty, and Mike and his wife Kristie; two sisters, Sophia Pryor, Julia Davidson and their families and one beloved family member Frank “Archie” Woodson; 14 grandchildren, Patrick, Nikki, Paul, Andrew, John, David, Ben and Luke Sheridan, Jennifer, William and Matthew Henley, Michelle Lee, Scott Ross and Katherine Harrison; 9 great grandchildren, Timothy, Drew, Macon, Sadie and Hughes Sheridan, Berkeley and Arden Ross, Ashton Lee and Baby Harrison due in November. Mary Jane was the Vice President and Treasurer of Sheridan Funeral Home, a founding member of the Fluvanna Rescue Squad and long term member of the Fluvanna Christian Service Society. She was a lifelong member and faithful servant of her beloved Byrd Chapel United Methodist Church and devoted keeper of the church cemetery records. She was a friend and servant to all in need of a meal, a loving smile or a helping hand. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Neil McLaughlin were held on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at Byrd Chapel United Methodist Church in Kents Store. Sheridan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
