Jason Davis named head coach of boys’ basketball

Davis has served as an assistant boys’ basketball coach for the past 18 years in Fluvanna. He began his teaching and coaching career at the Fuqua School in Farmville. He has been in Fluvanna since 1997 where he has taught mathematics and coached a number of the school’s teams. His coaching experiences include: head coach of girls’ basketball, girls’ softball, boys’ tennis; assistant coach of boys’ basketball, football, girls’ basketball, baseball, boys’ soccer, and girls’ softball, according to the press release.

Davis earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Longwood University where he majored in mathematics and minored in coaching. He is married to Kristin Davis, an English teacher at Fluvanna Middle School. They have three children: Emory, grade 8 at FCHS; Lauren, grade 7 at FMS, and William, grade 5 at FMS.

“After waiting for 18 years, Coach Davis starts his new beginning. We wish him much success,” stated James Barlow, the principal of FCHS.
