Wine, beer & BBQ festival set for Saturday

“We felt it would be more effective to combine the events and focus all of our attention on one event rather than splitting our resources between two events,” he said.

From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the general admission price of $10 (18 and under get in free) a person can enjoy live music, nosh on grilled meat and visit craft booths. For an added $10, visitors can sample wine from seven wineries – including Fluvanna’s own Thistlegate and Cunningham Creek – and beer from brew masters.

A free kids’ play area will be set up with bounce houses and more.

The festival is important to Fluvanna for several reasons, Garcia said. “It attracts a number of visitors into the county and it provides locals a great opportunity to gather together and spend their time supporting local businesses who are participating,” he said.

President Debbie Lucado explained the Chamber’s role in Fluvanna.

“The Fluvanna County Chamber of Commerce is a business member-based Chamber organization,” she said. “By being a member of the Chamber, it is a very economical way to advertise your business, obtain business referrals, meet new contacts, and to share ideas and issues that you would like the Chamber to address.”
