Donald Wesley KiddDonald Wesley Kidd, 65, of Columbia, Va., passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 22, 2017.

Donald enjoyed playing guitar and visiting casinos. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, Kevin Harvick and the Dallas Cowboys. Those who knew him knew his favorite sayings were “Boy Oh Boy” and “Love U Man.”

Donald was preceded in death by his parents Nash Leroy Kidd, Sr., and Ethel Taggart Kidd; and two brothers, Jeffrey Allen Kidd and William Earl Kidd. Survivors include sons Donald Kidd, Jr., and Shannon Kidd of Cleveland, Ohio; daughter Sonda Silva (John) of Calif.; brothers Nash Leroy Kidd, Jr., (Debra) of Columbia and Jerry Wayne Kidd (Servilla) of Kents Store; and sister Ann Kidd-Catlett of Cartersville. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Shannon and Daniel Kidd, Dakota Sharp (Somer), and Dallas Silva; and 11 nieces and nephews: Angie, Heath, Jessica, Lizzie, Jerry Wayne, Deborah, Tricia, Jennifer, Becca, Alison and Kevin. In addition to his family, Donald leaves behind dear friends Tommy Yancey, Tim and Brett Gentry, Greg Haley, Sharla Ransone and Joe Tanner.

The family would like to thank the staff at Envoy at the Meadows and the University of Virginia Medical Center for their compassion and the care they provided Donald.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Memorial Baptist Church in Columbia, Va. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
