Joseph J. Delmonte, a.k.a. “JD Esquire,” 78, of Lake Monticello, passed away at 9:25 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2017, after a long illness.
He was born on March 27, 1938, in Queens, N.Y., a son of the late Joseph John Delmonte and Anne (Gross) Delmonte.
Joe spent most of his career as a sales manager for ABD Food Sales, a food brokerage company in Roslyn, N.Y. After retiring to Lake Monticello, Joe was very active in the community, where he worked at the Lake Monticello Golf Course and enjoyed playing golf. He was an avid New York Giants and New York Yankees fan. He had also coached Little League and football for the Farmingdale Hawks, where he served on the board.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Camille Delmonte; four children, Joseph John Delmonte and his wife, Cindy, Michell Delmonte-Synnott and her husband, James, Janean Delmonte Jones and her husband, Jon, and Cheryl Anne Delmonte and her fiancée, Brandon Irizzary; seven grandchildren, Monica, Lauren, Victoria, Jaclyn, Janessa, Jon and Joseph; and two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Mackenzie.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Palmyra by the Reverend Gerald Francis Musuubire.
The family will receive friends immediately following the mass in the Saints Peter and Paul Parish Hall.
