Judith A. Fairis

Judy FairisJudith Ann (Orndorff) Fairis, 74, of Lake Monticello, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017, at her home.     

She was born on Oct. 1, 1942, in Pekin, Ill., the daughter of the late Franklin Orndorff and Mary Dorsey Orndorff.     

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Brian Fairis; and a brother, Dean Krohn.

Judy was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Palmyra and the Red Hat Group at Lake Monticello. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, taking care of her flowers, and watching the woodland animals and birds around her home.     

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, John Fairis; three daughters, Pamela Lindberg and husband, Douglas of Danville, Ky., Patricia Harris and husband, Scott of Richmond, and Angela Hildreth and husband, Larry of Prince George; a daughter-in-law, Erica of Stephens City; nine grandchildren; a brother, Gary Orndorff and wife, Janice of Delavan, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Shirley Krohn of Delevan; and a number of other extended family members.   

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017, at Salem United Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service for a time of food and remembrance of Judy’s life.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lake Monticello Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, 10 Slice Road, Palmyra, VA 22963.
