Constance June DiFazio

Constance DiFazioConstance June DiFazio, 83, of Charlottesville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, after battling a malignant glioblastoma brain tumor.

Constance was born on June 14, 1934, in Dover, N.J., to the late Frederick and Emma Evans Lindenmayer. She was the beloved granddaughter of Winfred Loring Evans.

Connie was the National Gene Autry Merit Scholarship winner. She attended and graduated from the Rutgers University College of Pharmacy and went on to become a clinical hospital pharmacist.

Connie loved to play the piano and loved classical music. In her youth, she was actively involved in organized sports. She instilled in her children a love of learning, music, arts, and athletics. She also instilled a competitive drive and passion in her children to succeed in each of their endeavors.

Connie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Cosmo DiFazio, Md.; five children, Cosmo (Faye), Michael (Bonnie), Charles (Diane), Maria, and Patrick; 13 grandchildren, Cosmo, Michael, Emma, Ryan, Cody, Melissa, Kevin, Arielle, Greg, Kyle, Andrew, Isabella, and Francesca; and two great-grandchildren, Jaclyn and Wyatt.

A funeral mass was held on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Charlottesville. The burial followed the mass at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church Cemetery in Palmyra. The family received friends on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, from 5-8 p.m. at Teague Funeral Service in Charlottesville.
