James Robert “Bob” Hamm, a longtime resident of Lake Monticello, died Feb. 17, 2019, in senior living in Boulder, Colo. He was 98 years old.
Bob had worked at Westinghouse Electric Co. in Pittsburgh, Kansas City and Philadelphia for more than 40 years. He and his wife Marian “Toddie” Hamm moved to Lake Monticello in 1985. Bob served on the property owners’ board, helped launch Fluvanna County’s recycling program and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.
Bob and Toddie left Lake Monticello for Wichita, Kan., in 2002.
A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Boulder May 4, 2019, starting at 11 a.m. He will be buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt at a later date.
