Richard Johnson, 40, who went missing from his Scottsville home Monday (May 6), returned to work Wednesday (May 8).
Johnson had been last seen early May 6 at 4 a.m. driving his wife’s red 1998 Honda CRV with Virginia plates reading VZT9943. He was reportedly headed for job-related training in Harrisonburg, but investigation did not corroborate that he had such training that day, Capt. Dave Wells of the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
His wife last spoke to him by phone May 6 at 9 a.m. Johnson did not report to work in Charlottesville Tuesday (May 7), Wells said in the release.
Johnson, a white male, was reported missing by his wife, according to the release.
After Johnson returned to work Wednesday, the sheriff’s office issued a follow-up press release. “There was no reported criminality is his temporary disappearance and the sheriff’s office is no longer investigating the matter,” Wells said.
