Arlene Cynthia Elizabeth Manuel (Lambert)

Ms. Arlene Manuel died peacefully at her home in Lake Monticello on July 4, 2019. She was 81 years old. Arlene was born in Calcutta, India, on Aug. 16, 1937, to Margaret and Eric Manuel.

Arlene was a great lover of music. She stepped onto the night club scene in Calcutta, singing lead, with only a true note, a keen ear for music, and a delightful smile. Before she began singing, she had an abiding love and talent for dance, particularly in the sphere of the jitterbug.

Arlene is survived by her three children: Natalie Godfrey of Lake Monticello, Gerard Godfrey of Lake Monticello, and Michele Yoyetewa of Arizona. She has eight grandchildren, including Aaron Shifflett and Devon Shifflett of Lake Monticello. She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren.

A Catholic funeral mass was held Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and a gathering for friends and family at 10 a.m.
