EDITH CAROL ROBERTS-GEER

Carol Geer, age 83, passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2021 due to the inability to recover from a stroke sustained in June 2020.  She was born July 18, 1938 in Washington, D.C. to Daniel and Helen Beattie, and the family eventually moved to Detroit, Michigan where, in her 20s, Carol met and married her Roy Roberts. Carol and Roy later moved to Central Virginia where Carol honorably served the community for many years as a para-legal secretary for the Commonwealth of Virginia’s District Attorney in Culpeper, VA.  Roy preceded her in death in 1988.  They are survived by their son, John Roy Roberts, and their grandchildren: Hanna Marie, Matthew and Bradley, and stepdaughter, Elizabeth Ren.

After some time, Carol remarried for the remaining 23 years of her life, during which time she also enjoyed working part-time for four years at Jim Price Chevrolet in Charlottesville. Carol is survived by her husband, James Irvin Geer; her sisters Margaret Beattie, Gloria Massu and Patricia Rotisky; her stepdaughter, Pamela Cipriani; sisters-in-law, Linda Bailey, Patsy Minahan, and Kay Van Ness; and brother-in-law, JB Geer.

All of the above she loved and touched deeply. Carol was well-known for her cheerful attitude, and she loved to giggle to the point of tears which was contagious.  Carol honored the Lord Jesus Christ throughout her life, was an avid reader of the Bible, and enjoyed investigating Internet articles about the “signs of the times.”
