Steve Hurwitz recently informed the Board of Directors of his intention to retire as general manager of the Lake Monticello Owners’ Association. Citing COVID’s negative impact on plans to visit their far-flung family, he and his wife Mickey said the wanted to be ready to travel extensively as soon as that is possible, according to the LMOA.
“In discussing the Association’s needs, Steve agreed with the Board’s observation that those travel considerations worked well with the Board’s desire to allow sufficient time for a thorough search and selection of his replacement. Steve plans to continue to serve LMOA during that search to help maintain the momentum of improvements which have characterized his service as the leader of the staff. Steve and the Board will set an actual departure date at a later time,” according to the Oct. 7 announcement.
“The Board deeply appreciates Steve’s many contributions, among them, improving LMOA’s financial position for the present and future, improvements in food and beverage and golf operations, and guiding our large community through the perils of COVID. We thank Steve Hurwitz for his 4 years of service to our community and wish him and Mickey many happy visits with their family,” according to the announcement.
