Did you notice a bright new star in the sky? That was light coming from our dear Norman. He passed to the heavens on November 13.
Born in 1934 in Danville, Virginia to Margaret and Norman Sr., Norman was an outgoing man who was an enthusiastic participant in life activities. Norman grew up in Virginia and Washington, DC where he met his lifetime love, Patsy, in high school. Norman attended the University of Richmond where he majored in sociology, participated in baseball, glee club, and found his second passion–golf! He attended Southeastern Baptist Seminary and spent his career in the ministry. He loved his career–helping many people over the years while serving in churches in NY, CT, MA, and MI, as well as local Virginia churches.
Norman made many lifelong friendships along the way and will be remembered as a wonderful man who always gave much more than he asked for in return. He was a humorous, talented leader who enjoyed singing and presenting lectures on his faith. He was loved and appreciated for all of his many talents. His wife of 67 years, Patsy, and his family were his pride and joy. In addition to his precious wife, Patsy, Norman is survived by his children David, Paul, and Carol; his grandchildren Spencer, Christian, Tori, Natalie, and Drew; and great-grandchildren Laila, Avilyn, Aniyah, Cairyn, Beau, Arlo, Iris, and Koda.
He will be interred at the University of Richmond Cannon chapel. We’ll love you forever and we’ll catch you on the back nine!
