The Fluvanna County High School indoor track and field team recently traveled to Lynchburg to compete in the Walter Bass Invitational Track meet. Coach Melanie Kennedy said that two of the boys’ relay teams turned in performances that qualify the teams for the state meet later in the year.
The 4X200 relay team of Aidan Girard, Kareem Ragland, Kameran Green and Addison Patchett had a time of 1:36.31, which was fast enough to qualify. The 4X400 relay team ran the cumulative mile in 3:40.13. The team consisted of Girard, Ragland, Green and Nathaniel Valentin.
Kennedy also said that Girard has qualified for the regional meet by posting a time of 38.05 in the 300m. The coach also pointed out the girls’ 4X400 relay team of Aaniiyah Ragland, Rachel Warden, Olivia Farruggio and Anna Amato posted an excellent time of 4:32.66.
