Fluvanna welcomed two new businesses Saturday (Feb. 5) with ribbon-cutting celebrations for Lakelady Therapeutics and D’Mary Store and Deli.

About 30 people stopped by Lakelady Therapeutics, 6440 Thomas Jefferson Parkway to see owner Rachel Hartless and her massage/yoga space.

Hartless showed guests around the calming space that had soft lighting, a fireplace and cozy décor.

As people gathered around the massage table talking, Judy Fish, a Lake Monticello Board member, came in and said, “How many of you can say you laid on that table? I have.”

Fish encouraged everyone to book a massage with Hartless, singing her praises as a masseuse.

County Administrator Eric Dahl and Economic Development Director Jennifer Schmack stood outside in the cold, biting wind holding either end of the red ribbon.

Visitors braved the cold as Chamber President Darryl Gibson welcomed Hartless to the Fluvanna business community.

Dahl and Schmack added their thanks to Hartless for choosing Fluvanna.

Hartless cut the ribbon and everyone went back inside the warm building to mingle and find out more about the services Hartless offers. Read about Lakelady Therapeutics and book an appointment at www.lakeladytherapeutics.com

Everyone gathered an hour later to join Daniel Andrade, owner of D’Mary Store and Deli as he cut the ribbon opening his restaurant at the former Cunningham Store, 3417 Thomas Jefferson Parkway.

Andrade thanked everyone for coming and Schmack, in particular, for the work she put into helping him make the grand opening possible.

Savory smells of grilled chicken, beef and pork wafted out the front door making everyone’s mouth water.

D’Mary gave out two free pork tacos to anyone who stopped by throughout the day.

The more than 30 people who showed up for the ribbon cutting waited patiently to put in their orders.

D’Mary’s makes an authentic, delicious taco that will surely continue to draw crowds. Contact D’Mary Store and Deli at 434-589-2592 and be sure to stop in to see the whole menu.
