Dennis Audron Paine was born February 9, 1942 and passed away from complications of heart disease on January 7, 2022, one month short of his 80th birthday.
Dennis was born to Audron and Louise Read Paine in Scotia, California, joining his older brother Tom, followed by his younger brother Victor. He attended Scotia Elementary and Fortuna Union High School, Class of 1960. Dennis loved the time spent at the ranch at Camp Grant, home of his grandparents and later his parents.
Dennis enlisted in the U.S. Marines, serving in Hawaii, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam. He became a telecommunications technologist. He graduated from the University of Hawaii earning a degree in business, later studied telecommunications at George Washington University. Dennis worked for the U.S. Government in Saudi Arabia, San Diego, the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and many Department of Defense contractors. He traveled to many assignments in foreign nations throughout his career.
Dennis retired from civil service in 2012 and enjoyed fine dining, wine, and traveling, especially to Europe. After retiring, Dennis resided in Palmyra, near Charlottesville, Virginia. He was a proud Marine and veteran, and joined American Legion Post #74 in Charlottesville. He was a member of The Dogwood Vietnam Memorial, the Central VA Veterans Group, Lake Monticello and Fluvanna Conservatives Club, Fluvanna County Republicans, Marine Corp League.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents Audron and Louise Paine, by his brother Tom, a retired Marine, and his brother Victor, a Marine killed in Vietnam in 1966. Dennis is survived by a niece and nephew, numerous cousins, and many good friends from his world travels.
