Sheriff’s office seeking help in shooting incident

The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the assistance of the community with information related to the discharge of a firearm into a commercial building in the Bremo Bluff area of the county. Deputies and investigators responded to the 2800 block of James Madison Highway in Bremo Bluff on Tuesday, March 22,  after receiving a report from a citizen that a commercial building appeared to have bullet holes in the windows of the building. Multiple cartridge casings and bullet fragments were recovered. Nearby citizens reported that they heard what they believed to be shooting or firecrackers in the area over the previous weekend.

The individuals responsible were described as two males driving a light-colored sedan who had been parked in the parking lot adjacent to the building in the Family Dollar complex when the shots had been heard. The crimes were described to have occurred between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on either Saturday or Sunday evening.

No persons appear to have been injured. The sheriff’s office continues to investigate these crimes and is seeking any information community members or passers-by may have that will assist in identifying and holding the perpetrators accountable.
