Shots fired into occupied apartment in Cohasset area

The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting that an unknown person or persons had discharged a firearm multiple times into an occupied apartment on April 9 at 3:13 a.m. The apartment is located at 44 Fawn Lake Road in the Cohasset area of Fluvanna County.  

Deputies arrived on scene and located evidence that a handgun and shotgun had been used to shoot multiple projectiles into an occupied apartment. It is believed the shots came from the parking lot and were deliberately fired into the apartment.  No injuries were reported, but the apartment sustained heavy damage.  This incident is in the early stages of investigation and no motive has been identified at this time. 

The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office is looking for any information to help find the person(s) responsible.  A cash reward of up to $2,500 is available for information that leads to the arrest and successful prosecution of the offender(s).  If you have information, please call the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office at 434-589-8211 or Crimestoppers at 434-977-4000.  

The Sheriff’s Office is also seeking information related to the discharge of a firearm into a commercial building in the Bremo Bluff area of the county. Deputies and Investigators responded to the 2800 block of James Madison Highway in Bremo Bluff on Tuesday, March 22, after receiving a report from a citizen that a commercial building appeared to have bullet holes in the windows of the building. Multiple cartridge casings and bullet fragments were recovered. 

It’s unclear if the two incidents are connected.
