The Fluvanna County High School crosscountry teams hosted a meet against Jefferson District foes at the Pleasant Grove course on Sept. 21. Teams from Western Albemarle, Louisa County and Charlottesville High were the visitors. A decent crowd of spectators were on hand, and the weather was excellent for the runners.
The Fluco girls team was strong, finishing in second place. The first five finishers count in these meets. Sophie Farley and Ruby Frazier lead the Fluco’s team taking third and fourth place. They were followed by Madeline Creasy who finished 11th, Kayla Kozella who came in 14th and Kate Best who finished in 18th place.
The Fluco boys team was not as successful as they finished fourth. The top five boys were Ryder Petrylak who finished in 13th place, Kevin Sloan who was 16th, Zachary Butler who was 22nd, Zach Jefferies who finished 23rd and Jonathan Gretz who came in 25th. Rose Brogan coaches both squads.
