Press Release
Fluvanna County’s two dance studios are combining resources to grow the artistry of local dance and musical theater.
Starting this month, Studio Chassé will relocate and sublease Angell’s School of Dance at 19 Centre Court, Lake Monticello.
“This move doubles our dance space, and allows us to offer more children’s dance classes and programs, including musical theater,” said Michelle Cooper, owner and artistic director of Studio Chassé.
Angell Husted, owner and director of Angell’s School of Dance, said she will continue her adult classes, including Pilates 50+, Dance for Parkinson’s, and Dancing with God.
Michelle Cooper opened Studio Chassé (pronounced sha-SAY) in June of 2021 in Fluvanna’s Food Lion Plaza. She’s been training since 1982 and teaching dance in the central Virginia area since 1994.
Husted has been a certified fitness professional since 1982. Angell’s Fitness & Dance opened on Valentine’s Day 1999. Four years later, her personal training studio was added. After more than 16-years at 7 Centre Court, during the summer of 2015, Husted designed and built a studio just across the street at 19 Centre Court. This more than doubled the previous site’s space.
