Once again the Fluvanna Community Singers ushered in the holiday season with its annual Christmas concert held Dec. 2 and 3 at the Fluvanna County High School auditorium. A large, enthusiastic audience heard everything from old favorites such as “Joy to the World” and “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day” to newer ones, such as “Christmas Waltz” from Anastasia and “Once Upon a December.” A group of children from Carysbrook Elementary School led by Kathy Allen also joined the chorus on Saturday night for several songs much to the delight of all who attended.
The Fluvanna Community Singers have never charged for its concerts. However, donations to the Fluvanna Food Bank are always encouraged. This year, the total donation amount came to $1,004 along with many bags of food.
To hear the songs sung at the concert, search for Fluvanna County Singers on Facebook. Rehearsals for our spring concert start in mid-January and are on Thursday nights at the Fluvanna County High School. To find out more information about the Singers, contact Adele Schaefer at 434-962-1928.
