Judy Snyder

Judy Snyder of Lake Monticello, VA died on Monday, February 12, 2024, at the UVA Medical Center after a brief illness.  She was born on October 24, 1938, in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Robert and Eileen (Stickel) Snyder.  She was one of four siblings, all of whom predeceased her.  She was also predeceased, in 2015, by her husband, David Morgan Moulton.  Judy and Dave lived in Cromwell, CT until 2014 when they moved to Lake Monticello, VA.  

 Judy was an occupational therapist and managed the O.T.  Department at Hartford Easterseal Rehabilitation Center.  After obtaining a master’s degree in organizational behavior,  she worked in human resources at Bay State Medical Center  and Aetna Life Insurance Company where she later set up Aetna’s customer service unit for long term care.  Judy was a Master World Champion Woodcarver of wildfowl art.  She won over 200 ribbons at Wildfowl Competitions including third in the world at the Ward World Championship in Ocean City, MD where she judged every year at the April World Competition.

Judy was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.   She also was an avid golfer and played with the Lake Monticello Monday and Friday evening golf groups.  Survivors include her best friend of 57 years, Kathy Pol of Lake Monticello, VA and her stepdaughter, Rochelle Moulton of Palm Springs, CA., stepson, Scott Moulton of Bristol, CT plus nieces and nephews of whom she was very fond.

Family and friends are invited to a reception from 4 – 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Thacker Brothers Lake Monticello Funeral Home.  

A Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Palmyra, VA.

Final internment for Dave and Judy will take place later this year in Cavendish, Vermont.
