Store openings/closings: Papa Jim’s second location off Turkeysag Trail is now open alongside the original location near Zion Crossroads.

Palmyra is teeming with life! Everywhere you look, you can find something new and fun to do, whether it’s exploring the vast richness of nature, enjoying a glass of local wine, or trying out a fun arts and crafts session; Palmyra has it all!
Coming up on March 23, explore the fascinating world of drawing portraits with artist Linda Staiger of Staiger Studio. She’s offering a workshop on drawing the face and head at the Sweet Arts Emporium, from 9 to 11 a.m. At only $25, this class aims to help you understand the basics of realistic portrait drawing. You can even take home a skull figure to help you understand the anatomy.
Also on March 23, it’s the start of the Chiles Family Orchard “Easter Eggstravaganza!” This event spans two weekends–Saturday, March 23, and Saturday, March 30, – and will take place at Carter Mountain Orchard. There is an Easter Egg Hunt from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., face painting, fairy floss cotton candy, food trucks, live music, and hayrides! The egg hunt is open for kids age 2-10.
March 30, at 10 a.m. in Pleasant Grove Park, Pleasant Grove is holding its annual Easter Egg Hunt. This hunt is for children newborn up to age 12, and is put on by the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3372. Bring your own basket.
On April 1, Camp Friendship is hosting a Women’s One Day Refresh from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the Fluvanna Chamber. However, it is open for non-chamber-members as well. Discuss, discover, and unwind.
If you’re still itching for more art, there is a dry-point etching class by Diane at Sweet Arts on April 12 at 5 p.m. This class will get messy. Participants are encouraged to wear short sleeves and aprons; materials like ink and plastic printing sheets will be provided. At the end of the day, you get to take your very own print home.
