Fun Fact of the Week: There is a species of lizard that is composed entirely of females. Found primarily in southwestern US states, the New Mexico whiptail is one of the many species that can exist through parthenogenesis. They have been given the unofficial title of ‘lesbian lizards’ as they perform mating acts with each other to help produce eggs.
On June 29, Billy and the Backbeats will be performing live at the Southern Revere Cellars in the Kents Store! This band plays classic rock and roll, R&B, soul, and country from the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s. Come on out for a fun, lively night of rocking out to the classics!
There will be a Junior Golf Camp, hosted by the PGA of America, for kids ages 8-12 starting June 24 and running for five sessions. This camp aims to teach kids the basic fundamentals of putting, short game, full swing, rules, etiquette, and scoring, all while in a fun, safe environment. Lake Monticello golf course will be hosting this camp–you can get tickets online! Registration closes this Sunday, June 23.
Cunningham Creek Winery continues with its Saturday Live events this summer. This Saturday, the 22, they will be hosting Dave Kuland and Rusty Speidel. Next weekend is John Kelly. Each Saturday Live has food trucks, live music, wine, and fun!
On June 24t, at 6:30 p.m., the Salon DeShano in Turkeysag Trail is hosting a Holistic Outreach for Veterans and their families. If you or a loved one has served and needs support and camaraderie, come on out to see if this group can help! They meet on the 4th Monday of each month at the Salon DeShano.
