Fluvanna Happenings: What’s New?

Fun Fact of the Week: Did you know that the mantis shrimp can see four times the amount of colors that humans can? These colorful shrimp live in the warm, shallow waters of the Indian and Pacific oceans. Humans can process only three channels of color (red, green, and blue), while mantis shrimps perceive the world through twelve separate channels of color! They can even detect ultra violet and polarized light, aspects of light humans can’t access with the naked eye. We’ve been out-eyed by shrimp!

Music

Mo & Mary Mac are joining Cunningham Creek Winery for the first time on Saturday, July 20, bringing their light and airy vocals and traveling souls to their Saturday Music & a Food Truck Series. They will be there from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Mo Safren, short for Morris, is a native of Culpeper, Virginia. He is a pianist and singer who has studied under some of the best teachers in the world, at the Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester.
