Many people are experiencing food insecurity in Fluvanna which is why the food bank and area churches are appealing for food donations,

Cindy Anderson attends Lake Christian Church and they collect food each week for the food bank. She works part-time at Grace & Glory, which collects food and monetary donations on the third Sunday of each month. She also works part-time for Cunningham UMC and they collect food for the food bank on the second Sunday of each month.

“I delivered the food from Grace & Glory this past week since the usual delivery person was busy. While I was there, I asked a staff member at the food bank what their current needs were and she recommended Thanksgiving foods,” said Anderson. This would include canned vegetables, sweet potatoes, bread and cake mixes, etc. The food bank does have a refrigerator and can take perishable items.
