Leslie Jane Geer passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, at the age of 78 at Barclay Senior Living in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was born on December 2nd, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio.
Leslie was the beloved daughter of Lloyd and Ora (Brailey) Geer, who lived in Cresco, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Swanton, Ohio, and went to high school there until her family moved to Pennsylvania before her senior year. In 1968, she graduated as a music major from Bucknell University and later lived and taught elementary music in Brick, New Jersey, while earning a master’s degree in education.
Leslie was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Stephen. She’s survived by her brother Roger and his wife Jackie Geer of Santa Rosa, California; her cousin Judith Rosenburger; her nieces Rebecca Hanson and Andrea DuPont, and her nephews Shaun and Daniel Geer, along with their children.
Leslie was always passionate about music. She sang in high school and college, and most recently, in the Palmyra United Methodist Church choir. She had a beautiful soprano voice and always encouraged others to sing and trust their own talents. For years, she spearheaded the Easter Sunrise service that the Palmyra United Methodist Church held at the Fluvanna Dog Park and she sang In the Garden as the sunrise broke the horizon to the East.
A close family memorial service is planned. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to a local animal shelter.
