Ray Eugene Adams Jr.

Ray Eugene Adams, Jr., 64, of Palmyra, Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025.

Born on January 10, 1961, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Ray was the beloved son of Sandra (Youngkin) Adams and the late Raymond Adams, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Sandra; his siblings Christopher Adams and his wife Patty Adams, Pamela (Adams) Vincent and her husband Joseph Vincent, and Nancy (Adams) Drysdale; his devoted wife, Susan (Abraham) Davenport; his cherished children, son Justin Adams and daughter-in-law Kaitlynn (Lain) Adams; step-daughters Sara Davenport and her husband Brian Franke, and Rachel Davenport and her husband Stephen Bond. He is also lovingly remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives he touched.

Ray spent his career as a skilled and dedicated electrician. After retiring, he and Susan made their home in Lake Monticello (Palmyra, Virginia), where he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fly fisherman who treasured his time in Shenandoah National Park, a talented woodworker, a keen target shooter, and he especially enjoyed cruising the lake on his boat with friends and family.

Ray will be remembered for his quiet strength, dedication to his family, and his unwavering love for those closest to him. His presence brought calm and steadiness, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Medi Home Hospice for the compassionate care and kindness they showed to Ray in his final days. We are also grateful for the care provided by Linden House at Branchlands.

A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (https://www.lbda.org/donate/).
