Fluvanna County’s commercial kitchen has received a $7,400 grant from the Virginia Department of Agriculture’s infrastructure program.
Governor Glenn Youngkin’s office announced the grant on Friday (June 27). According to the grant proposal, the funds will be used to install a dedicated electrical circuit and purchase equipment.
Located at the Fluvanna County Community Center in Fork Union, the kitchen can be rented by food producers who need a fully licensed facility for preparation of foods for sale to consumers.
The facility includes a six-burner commercial stove, a stainless steel prep line, ovens, and commercial-grade refrigerators and freezers.
In December 2024, the Board of Supervisors voted to reduce the rental fees to $25 per hour for residents, and $30.25 for non-residents.
