Residents on and around Bremo Road saw a heavy law enforcement presence for much of the day on Monday (June 23) as authorities searched for a man after an alleged assault and battery.
Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Virginia State Police officers were trying to apprehend Michael Wayne Morris, 42, after an early-morning call to report an assault in the 2000-block of Bremo Road.
Lt. Thomas Custer, spokesperson for the FCSO, said Morris is wanted on assault on a family member, brandishing a firearm, and possession of a firearm as a felon.
Custer confirmed reports that a search helicopter and a VSP tactical unit were utilized in the search.
However, nearly a week after the search, Morris has not been apprehended.
