David Craig McKinnon

David Craig McKinnon, 66, of Palmyra, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026. Born on April 13, 1959, in Charlottesville, Virginia. David spent his life serving others, working as a Master Electrician, Master Mechanic,  Medic and Life Member of Lake Monticello Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Medic at Charlottesville-Albemarle Volunteer Fire and Rescue—professions that reflected his practical skill and deep willingness to help people when they needed it most.

David was a man who appreciated the simple joys of life. He loved music, camping, fishing, and motorcycle riding. In quieter moments, he enjoyed crafting birdhouses by hand—small projects that reflected his patience and craftsmanship.  David also loved traveling with his wife, Pam, in their RV, exploring new and familiar places and enjoying the freedom of the open road.

Above all, David valued his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela Pagan McKinnon; his children, Michael David McKinnon and Megan Elizabeth McKinnon; his mother, Anna Fletcher McKinnon; his sister, Katherine Marie McKinnon; and his stepchildren, Christopher Lance Williamson, Kenneth Jonathan Harker, Alaina Abigail Harker, and Katherine Grace Harker. David’s warmth, humor, and dependable nature made him a steady presence in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

David was preceded by his father, Eugene Martin McKinnon.

David will be remembered for his kindness, his work ethic, and the way he cared for the people around him. Whether fixing something that was broken, lending a hand to someone in need, or sitting by the water with a fishing line cast out, David found meaning in everyday moments of life.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and in the many small things he built, repaired, and shared throughout his life. David will be dearly missed.

Thank you to all our family, friends, and caregivers.

Please feel free to join David’s family and friends for a memorial service on March 27th at 3:00 pm at Beaver Dam Baptist Church, 1794 Richmond Road, Troy, Virginia 22974.
