The Lake Monticello Swim Team (LMST) had another great week at its swim meet against Key West Club Wednesday (July 11). The night started out with a few thunder delays forcing both teams to sit out of the pool for a while; however, once the thunder cleared the Sharks were ready to get racing.

The official meet results had not been posted prior to this article going to print, but LMST had a remarkable showing and secured many victories contributing to the final meet score. LMST gave a great effort and the final score was 432-501, making it a narrow loss for the Sharks. Many swimmers contributed to the 432 points the team earned and the coaches are proud of each of them.

Head Coach Carly Csapo said, “Despite a few storms, the Sharks had a successful meet against Key West. We had many swimmers complete new events for the first time and had many personal best times. With the championship meet only two weeks away we are in high gear to achieve all of our personal and team goals we set for the summer. I’m very proud of the sportsmanship and spirit our team has showed so far this summer and can’t wait to see our swimmers perform in the big meet.”

LMST is proud to have each swimmer as part of the large team this year and so many supportive parents as well. It has been an exciting season thus far.

The Sharks wrapped up their season Wednesday (July 18) when they hosted Glenmore Country Club at the Shark tank. The team is now preparing to head into the Jefferson Swim League Champs event which takes place at the University of Virginia Aquatics Center July 27-28.
