Fluvanna High boys’ track and field coach Steve Szarmach said that Jaden Ferguson finished his eighth grade track season by qualifying for a National outdoor track meet sponsored by New Balance. The meet was held June 13 at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, N.C.
Ferguson took part in three events at this meet in the junior high division. Ferguson won a gold medal and a bronze medal. His triple jump distance of 41 feet 8 inches claimed the gold. In the long jump, he sailed 19 feet 11.75 inches for bronze. Ferguson also placed 19th in the 100–meter dash.
