Tufton Pond at Lake Monticello has been cleared of blue-green algae after a treatment applied by Solitude Lake Management, a company that specializes in water quality management.
The algae can be harmful to humans and pets. Sign’s warning people to stay out of the water and to keep pets out of the water have been removed, according to a press release from the Lake Monticello Owners’ Association.
“The treatment applied by Solitude is safe during and after application for fishing, watering livestock, and irrigation of food and non-food crops. The pond has no further signs of algae,” according to the release.
