Fluvanna County awarded $346,820 to businesses from Fluvanna through the first round of small business grants.
The Funds for Recovery and Operations Management (FROM): Fluvanna Small Business Grants was created to offset costs and revenue lost because of the COVID-19 health crisis. The first round had $450,000 allocated from the county’s CARES Act funding.
On Aug. 5, the Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors allocated an additional $450,000 from the county’s CARES Act funding for a second round of FROM: Fluvanna grants. In total, $553,180 remains to help businesses affected by the pandemic who have not yet applied. The final round of the grant program ends on Sept. 18.
FROM: Fluvanna is structured to assist both for-profit companies and non-profit entities based in Fluvanna County.
For-profit businesses and private schools are eligible for grants ranging from $2,500 up to $20,000:
- O Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) employees: up to $2,500;
- 1 FTE employees: up to $5,000;
- 21-50 FTE employees: up to $15,000;
- 51+ FTE employees: up to $20,000.
Non-profit organizations that have provided an ongoing community need throughout the pandemic are eligible for up to $15,000. A “community need” could be providing food, childcare, or other household needs. Other non-profits are eligible for up to $5,000.

The FROM: Fluvanna program is funded through the Economic Development Authority of Fluvanna County. The Community Investment Collaborative is administrating the program.
