Captain Peterson graduates FBI National Academy

The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce that Operations Captain Sean Peterson graduated from the 281st Session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy on March 17. The FBI National Academy is a professional course of study for U.S. and international law enforcement managers nominated by their agency heads because of demonstrated leadership qualities. The 10-week program—which provides coursework in intelligence theory, terrorism and terrorist mindsets, management science, law, behavioral science, law enforcement communication, and forensic science—serves to improve the administration of justice in police departments and agencies at home and abroad and to raise law enforcement standards, knowledge, and cooperation worldwide. The FBI National Academy is held at the FBI training academy in Quantico Virginia. The 281st Session was attended by 257 law enforcement executives from around the world. Captain Peterson is only the second person in the history of the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office to be selected for the FBI National Academy. We are proud the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office now has two FBI National Academy graduates serving on the command staff.
