Joan Clapp Biel, 96, of Palmyra, VA, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2022 at her residence.
Joan was born June 19, 1926, to her father, the late William T. Clapp
Joan is preceded in death by her father, and her husband of 61 years Earl Herman Biel Jr.
Joan is survived by her daughter Christine Harper of Palmyra, VA and her husband Bruce; her son Steven Biel and his wife Marianna; her granddaughters, Cierra Biel (husband Tykea) and Marina Biel; her nieces, Cindi Gray and husband Carl and their children, Jennifer Bly Clapp-Daly and husband John and their children.
Joan worked for several years as a telephone operator and a bank teller, then she became an avid homemaker. She enjoyed water skiing, playing bridge, and being active in P.E.O. She was a graduate of Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA.
Per Joan’s wishes, the grave site service for her will be private. A Memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
